8:05 AM EST - I have received spam for weight loss drugs at an email address given only to Dremel for product registration. Jeri at Dremel customer service (1-800-437-3635) took the email address, my name and phone number. She said she will be working with John on this and I will receive a call about it today.
9:15 AM EST - I received a voicemail from Pat Hensiak requesting more details. Upon returning her call and providing them, I also sent her a copy of the offending email & its headers. Pat is very professional and is taking this seriously. She told me that her division does not deal with product registration (where my email address was given), but that she will continue working on this issue.

Sound Solutions
Custom Autosound, Security, Video & Accessories
1621 Stanley Road

I’ve wanted a remote car starter for years now. I finally have one. I stumbled upon Sound Solutions while researching which starter I wanted and where to purchase it and have it installed. Not only did they have a lower price than the local chain store ($50 less!), they also told me to come on in and they’d install it immediately. Wow! That just doesn’t happen to me. They told me it would take about an hour and a half. It took a little bit longer (due to the VW being unlike most cars), but waiting was no biggie. I started to get a little wary when it came time for them to close, but they stayed and finished the job and were professional about the whole thing. They fully explained to me the reason for the delaly and went over the operation of the device. I don’t do much after-market stuff to my vehicles, but will certainly start at Sound Solutions when I’m ready to do more.
It sure was nice not having to go outside to start the car and defrost the windows this morning!
Thanks, guys!

Married @ Costco…
Costco just opened in Greensboro. I’ve heard great things about them, so we had already decided to join. Last Sunday, we went to check them out and they really impressed me from the start. As I was filling out the membership application, I saw an area for entering information about your spouse for another (free) card. Well, not only was it for a spouse, but domestic partner was also listed. I really appreciate that. Greg and I are able to shop on the same account and not have to go through any wranglings to be there together. It’s a shame that Costco is the first “official” entity to recognize our relationship, but there you have it. I guess one might say we got married at Costco!

I remember making a kite with Grandmother in the field behind Uncle Dwight’s house. We took newspaper, string, tape and rags, found two good sticks and made the kite right there on the ground. I imagine I was around 5 years old.

Yesterday evening, after visiting my chiropractor and racing home to take care of the dogs, I called Back Relief Unlimited in Greensboro. It was around 5:30 PM and the woman on the line said they closed at 6:00. I was a little miffed about not being able to get there that night; it would take 30 minutes to drive there. To my utter surprise, she said she’d still be there and for me to just knock on the door. WHAT?!?!?! I was so surprised I stumbled over my tongue trying to tell her I was on the way.
I arrived at 6:05ish and didn’t even have to knock. Kay Hall was talking with another customer and we all chatted for a short while. When he left, she got busy working with me as though I were there for a private shopping visit. She pulled out several products for me to try, described them knowledgeably and never hurried me at all. We chatted during the process (something I rarely do) and I felt very strongly that I was more important than my money.
Having grown up in small retail businesses, I know how a customer should be treated. In today’s retail, I often feel as though I’m expected to be thankful that the store will allow me to shop there and be grateful they’ll take my money. Kay Hall and Back Relief Unlimited provided me an especially refreshing change from the norm of today’s retail. I am also as pleased with my purchases as I am with their service. When the day comes that I am ready to purchase my TempurPedic bed, I will certainly buy from this fine business.
Thanks, Kay!
