Register Independent
October 11th, 2006 by SamBelow is a quote from Lou Dobbs regarding the travesty that is our purchased two-party government and how it’s screwing Middle-Class America. His suggestion in the article is for we middle-class folk to change our voter registrations to “Independent” and send a message to the two power-parties that we don’t like either of them. I like the idea, but I wonder if the politicos would get the message.
I am now registered as an Independent because North Carolina decided to take away my Libertarian registration and defaulted me to Independent. Nice of ‘em, huh? As I’ve stated more than once, my plans are to vote against ANY INCUMBENT in every election. If that means voting for the other party, then so be it. At least we’ve a chance that each successive office holder will negate the works of the predecessor. If we cannot get enough people to demand reduction of the size of our government, then maybe we can at least slow its growth.
It’s a shame that our government of, by and for the people is more and more against the people. The Great Experiment seems to be ending. The evolution of our country into the American Empire is taking us down the path of all empires. If we continue down this path, collapse is unavoidable. The United States of America is truly in distress.
Dobbs: Middle class needs to fight back now
“Individual firms, corporations and national organizations spent a record $2.14 billion on lobbying members of Congress and 220 other federal agencies in 2004, according to PoliticalMoneyLine. That’s nearly $6 million a day spent to influence our leaders. We really do have the best government money can buy.”
